A atmosfera de Atlanta nos últimos anos exala tanto R&Be hip-hopque os artistas de lá começam a gravar discos quando ainda são moleques. O fenômeno Usher foi mais um deles. Descoberto em um sarau local por um executivo da gravadora La Face aos 14 anos, ele foi levado ao chefão da companhia, L.A. Reid, que contratou o menino Usher Raymond, recém-saído de corais gospel. Adotando simplesmente o nome Usher, ele foi apresentado ao mundo em 1994, com Usher, em um disco que contava com a produção executiva de Sean Combs (também conhecido como Puffy ou Puff Daddy). Logo no primeiro single, Think Of You, ele chegou às rádios de todo os EUA e virou mania nacional, gravou um jingle da Coca-Cola e integrou o projeto de R&B Black Men United, com vários outros cantores, que lançou o single You Will Know, da trilha sonora do filme A Face da Verdade (Jason's Lyric). Ao lado de outro fenômeno, Monica, ele regravou Let's Straighten It Out, de Latimore.

O segundo disco de Usher foi lançado quando ele, finalmente, se formou na escola, My Way, de 1997, tráz o rapaz mostrando suas habilidades de compositor em seis das nove músicas, além de contar com produtores como Jermaine Dupri, Babyfacee o velho amigo Combs novamente. O primeiro single do disco, You Make Me Wanna, logo o levou novamente ao topo das paradas de R&B, além de promover o cruzamento para o mundo do pop. As canções Nice & Slow e My Way seguiram o mesmo caminho. Enquanto isso, Usher enveredou pela carreira dramática, aparecendo em The Faculty(em br: A Prova Final), um filme de terror adolescente, e o drama urbano Um Grito por Justiça. Não se esquecendo dos fãs, ele lançou um disco ao vivo, chamado simplesmente Live, em 1999. Ele voltou aos discos em 8701, de 2001, que o estabelecia definitivamente como cantor de soul, não mais como prodígio adolescente. A contagiante canção, que tinha o cantor e amigo Ludacriscomo convidado, subiu como um foguete e levou consigo o disco Confessions, que surgiu pouco depois. O disco mais maduro de Usher ganhou o Grammy de melhor disco de R&B contemporâneo.

Em 2005 Usher ganhou o VMA 2005 (MTV Video Music Awards) como melhor clip de cantor do ano, com o seu sucesso Caught Up. Junto com ele, os cantores 50 Cent, Beck, John Legend, Kanye West, também ganharam o VMA, com a mesma categoria de Usher.

Para novembro de 2007, é aguardado o quinto álbum de estúdio de Usher, de nome Regret.

Manson nasceu em Canton, Ohio, como filho único de Barb Wyer e Hugh Warner. Seu pai era católico; sua mãe, episcopal. Ele foi educado de acordo com a religião de sua mãe, estudando em Heritage Christian School. Em 1990, Warner já era um estudante de faculdade, matriculado em Broward Community College, trabalhando por um diploma em jornalismo e ganhando experiência no campo de escrever artigos de música para a revista 25th Parallel. Assim, ele conheceu muitos músicos com os quais sua banda seria comparada no futuro, tais como Trent Reznor de Nine Inch Nails. Manson ganhou o título "Reverendo Manson" do fundador da Igreja de Satã, Anton LaVey. Manson e Dita Von Teese, uma popular artista burlesca, atriz e modelo norte-americana, começaram a namorar no aniversário de trinta e dois anos de Manson, em 2001. Manson a pediu em casamento três anos depois, em 22 de março de 2004. Em 3 de dezembro de 2005 (documentos da corte judicial dizem 28 de novembro), eles se casaram em uma cerimônia dentro do Castelo de Gurteen, em Kilsheelan, Condado de Tipperary, na Irlanda, residência do artista Gottfried Helnwein. O casamento foi oficializado pelo diretor de filmes surrealista e escritor de histórias em quadrinhos Alejandro Jodorowsky. O caso estourou quando a relação extraconjugal com a atriz Evan Rachel Wood foi divulgado pela revista People. Wood tem dezenove anos, possui uma tatuagem em homenagem ao cantor e é co-estrela de Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, um filme de terror que está sendo dirigido por Manson, e apareceu no videoclipe de Heart-Shaped Glasses. O comportamento distante e a bebedeira de Manson foram apontados também como causas do fim do relacionamento. Manson, alegadamente, está lutando na justiça pela guarda dos três gatos do casal. Antes de seu relacionamento de sete anos com Von Teese, ele estava noivo da atriz Rose McGowan, estrela do seriado "Charmed", em que faz o papel de Paige Matthews. Manson se declara fã do cantor pop Justin Timberlake e, inclusive, mantem uma foto de Timberlake com o amigo Ambooleg em sua carteira. Ele cantou também sua própria versão de "What Goes Around, Comes Around". O Primeiro Álbum No primeiro álbum Marilyn já sofreu censura: duas fotos do encarte do álbum (inclusive uma das fotos sendo Manson ainda criança, nu) foram cortadas, sob a desculpa de que a divulgação agora era nacional, e eles não podiam abusar tanto assim da polêmica. Para piorar, o primeiro single “Get Your Gunn”, foi boicotado pelas rádios e pela MTV. A emissora só passava o clipe em horários que já passavam da meia noite. Mesmo com toda essa campanha contra (o que causou uma vendagem não tão boa no resto do país), a Flórida recebeu muito bem o álbum, e mais dois prêmios do Slammies são ganhos, de Melhor Banda e Melhor Vocalista. As Polêmicas Turnês A banda então inicia sua primeira grande turnê, “Self Destruct 94”, abrindo para o Nine Inch Nails, que se tornava cada vez mais famoso. A banda aprontava cada vez mais nos palcos. As cruzes invertidas e mulheres nuas ensangüentadas já não chamavam mais tanta atenção se comparadas às polêmicas que a banda vinha causando. Um show feito em Salt Lake City, cidade conhecida por ser conservadora, é um exemplo muito famoso. Uma equipe de Salt Lake foi enviada a um show de Manson em Las Vegas. Após estudarem bem o show, vieram cheios de restrições para cima da banda de Manson: nada de blasfemar entre as músicas, não mudar as letras, nada de cruzes invertidas e strippers em gaiolas, nada de venda de artigos promocionais.
